While Apple continues to provide security updates for more recent versions of macOS, we expect Apple will stop providing them for macOS 11 on 2024. The last security update from Apple for macOS 1 Big Sur was released on Sept 11, 2023. Sophos Home endpoints currently running Big Sur 11 will not receive new features, but will still get virus definition updates and limited Support until the OS is moved into Permanent retirement. MacOS 11 Big Sur is currently under Soft Retirement - Sophos Home will permanently end support for it by the end of April/May, 2024. MacOS versions listed under the Soft retirement section will no longer receive software updates, but will still get virus definition updates until moved to the permanent retirement list.
